The beautiful sea turtle is a symbol of the ocean that we all love. We all know we need to protect them but what if I said to protect the sea turtle is to protect the coral reefs? Coral reefs are home to countless creatures, jellyfish, manta rays, and of course, the sea turtle. They are a foundation of life in the ocean, supporting entire ecosystems. Yet, many of us don’t know much about them and its hard to care for something we don’t often see.
When imagining the sea turtle carrying the coral on its back, symbolizing the coral reefs importance’s, their survival supports so many animals in the ocean. The first step toward change is knowledge, humans depend on coral reefs just like the turtles and marine life do. Coral reefs create oxygen and protect against hurricanes. Protecting the coral reefs means protecting our shared futures!
