Amber Rae Malott- Cownose Ray Sculpture on Fossilized Coral

This little Cownose Ray sculpture is made from paperclay, a fine type of paper-mache. Then it is painted in watercolors made from genuine ground gemstones ( Tiger's Eye, Bloodstone & Yavapai/Lapis Lazuli for the eyes) 

Mounted on Fossilized Coral sourced from Withlacoochee river in Florida.

Size: 2.5" inches wide, 5.5" inches long, 1.75" inches tall

I have visited both the organizations locations and donated work as well as my time to teach the summer class kids watercolors. It is always amazing to see the impact they are making on the Tampa Bay area, where I live. I have seen these little rays under the dock at their pier location, gliding though the waters.
