Luna Moths are the largest moth species in North America and also have quite a short life span in their adult life (7 - 10 days). The males have very sensitive antennae, detecting female pheromones from far away. They also don’t eat during their adult life, and instead are focused on reproduction. With their nocturnal nature and short life spans, seeing a Luna Moth in the wild is a difficult feat! If you see one, enjoy the moment and take in their beauty!
