Lucifer Hummingbird (Calothorax lucifer)

The Lucifer Hummingbird is a striking hummingbird found in the arid deserts, canyons, and scrublands of northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. 

Not considered an endangered species. 

Known for the male's long, iridescent purple throat and elegantly curved bill, it is beautifully adapted to feeding from tubular desert flowers.
