AP Curiosities- Spring Peeper Mug

A spring peeper hides in the hollow of this verdant mug. A green micro-crystal glaze flows over the raised leaf impressions covering the mug surface. The glaze pools in thicker areas with a hint of blue.

On the first rainy, warm nights of spring thousands of spotted salamanders, wood frogs, spring peepers, and other amphibians travel to vernal pools and other wetlands to breed.  Unfortunately, due to roads and traffic, many of them are struck by vehicles. Amphibians, already facing stronger threats than many other groups of wildlife, can see localized declines due to roadkill, and are especially vulnerable during their punctual annual migrations. Maine Big Night (MBN) organizes volunteers to assist these animals across
the road while collecting valuable data to protect them for decades to come.

Mug holds approximately 16 oz of your favorite beverage. Measures 3.25” wide at mouth and 4.25” tall. Peeper measures approximately .75” long and .75” tall. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 32414.

All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended. Microwave safe.
