Each painting in the Urchin Bloom series begins with a moment of wonder.

Some of my happiest hours are spent exploring California’s coastline, where tide pools reveal intricate worlds filled with remarkable color, pattern, and life. I continue to be inspired by sea urchins, with their extraordinary geometry, quiet resilience, and unexpected beauty.

As I paint, I find myself returning to the same truth. The more closely we look, the more wonder we discover.
