“This 12x16” mixed media with oil piece features an endangered African Wild Dog and a “pirate” butterfly, a species native to Africa. The African Wild Dog is one of the world’s most effective predators with a hunting success rate of up to 80% (compared to lions with 20-30%). They use endurance to tire out prey over long distances, sprinting up to 70 km/h. The pack allows the pups to eat first and they look after sick, elderly or injured pack members by sharing food with them.  The title for this dreamy painting is inspired by the artist’s youngest son who says every night before he goes to sleep, “Have Everything That’s Happy!” The world need more of this hope!
