Missy Niemeyer- Garden Frog Platter

Porcelain hand-built platter with a textured border.  This little froggie design was painted on leather-hard clay with some of the details carved into it.  After the bisque fire (first kiln firing) clear coats of glaze were applied to the design, several coats of an aqua colored glaze were brushed on the background, and several coats of a translucent green glaze on the border of the piece.  It was then fired in an electric kiln to cone 6.

This platter is food safe.  Technically it is dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is recommended for longevity.
