Animals like opossums, rats, squirrels, and raccoons are often labeled as “pests,” but they are still living beings that play an important role in our ecosystems. Many of these wild neighbors help maintain environmental balance by controlling insect populations, cleaning up waste, and supporting the natural food chain. Despite this, they are often misunderstood and mistreated.

I am proud to donate half of the profits from this piece to The Humane Society of the United States Wild Neighbors Program, which works to promote coexistence with wildlife through humane solutions, education, and a better understanding of the animals (including the critters in the world) that share our environment.
