Natalia Cantu- The Critters of the Sea

The “critters” of the sea play an important role in marine ecosystems and environmental balance. Despite this, many suffer due to human practices such as being sold as pets with too small shells and toxic paints on while giving no proper care instructions, being transported or stored in inhumane conditions, even boiled alive or treated as disposable commodities rather than living beings. I am proud to donate half of the profits from this piece to Crustacean and Lobster Advocacy Worldwide (CLAW), a new organization dedicated to protecting these animals and advocating for more humane treatment, stronger protections, and greater awareness of their welfare because no matter how small they are living and feeling beings that are important in our world.
