This original 8 × 8 inch gouache painting celebrates the charm and character of the African penguin with bold colors and a graphic style.

 African penguins are now Critically Endangered, with wild populations having declined by more than 97% over the past century due to overfishing, climate change, habitat loss, and pollution. A portion of proceeds will be donated to SANCCOB (Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds), whose dedicated team rescues, rehabilitates, and releases injured, orphaned, and oiled penguins back into the wild.

 Inspired by a background in conservation, Ocelot Wild Studios creates artwork that reflects a connection to wildlife and the natural world. Gouache is chosen as a medium for its vibrant color, versatility, and lower environmental impact compared
