Dreaming Shell- Trompe l'oeil / Porcelain Curiosity Cabinet

Part cabinet, part collection, this sculptural shelf explores the shifting boundary between the natural and the made.

Porcelain shells, cast from real specimens, are embedded within the structure as though they have always belonged there. Displayed alongside natural beachfinds or other collected items, they blur the distinction between artifact and architecture, collection and container, inviting a closer look at what is found, what is made, and how we assign value to both.

Inspired by natural systems and the traces they leave behind, the shelf becomes more than a display for curiosities—it is a curiosity itself. It encourages slow observation, rewarding attention with subtle discoveries and reminding us that craft can preserve not only forms, but ways of seeing.

This shelf is handcrafted from white porcelain and is entirely unique. It can be displayed freestanding or mounted on a wall. Other decorative objects shown in the photographs are not included.
