Sara Redpath- Buff Ameraucana Mug

Chickens are often overlooked as individuals despite their remarkable intelligence, rich social lives, and extraordinary diversity. This piece invites a closer look.

Developed in North America, Ameraucana chickens are known for laying eggs in shades of pale blue to blue-green. They have distinctive muffs and beards, a longer U-shaped body, and come in a wide range of colours from black to lavender grey to this rare buff variety.

This mug is inspired by the Buff’s soft golden plumage and pale blue-green eggs. A hand-sculpted Buff Ameraucana nests inside an egg niche while inside a golden yolk rests at the bottom, waiting to be discovered. Capacity approx 10 oz.

This piece celebrates one of my favourite chicken breeds. It is microwave and dishwasher safe, and careful handling is recommended to protect your new friend.
